Equality & Advocacy case study - Unlimited
As the largest disabled artist commissioning body in the UK, Unlimited works with a huge range of stakeholders across their vast programme - creating a world in which disabled artists are treated equitably in the cultural sector. Their approach has many facets; from directly commissioning disabled artists to create new and exciting work, to providing support and guidance for the cultural sector to become a more inclusive and accessible space. Their advocacy and education initiatives also help to increase awareness and spark conversations about accessibility.
Unlimited’s work is funded largely by Arts Council England, as well as local authorities and other funding bodies, which makes tracking their audience engagement and impact imperative.
As a disabled led organisation with accessibility at its core, Unlimited also required a system which was intuitive and easy to use, for both internal and external users, which led them to choose GoodCRM to manage their processes.
Unlimited have worked closely with the GoodCRM team to understand some of their more unique requirements, with guided support from our Customer Success team:
“Good projects create relationships that are complex and interrelated, making the need to 'log' them tricky. With Penelope's guidance, knowledge and ingenuity, we've found ways to capture the data we knew we needed, as well as the surprises that cropped up along the way!”
Unlimited’s use of GoodCRM has expanded from managing artist’s details and commissions, to analysing data about an individual’s engagement across project strands, as well as recording the support they provide to cultural institutions. The system has begun to provide them with a streamlined way to understand their audiences too, though automated collection of Equality of Opportunity data.
GoodCRM’s segmentation tools are designed to make drilling down into this data easy; Unlimited are now able to understand exactly who attended an event, and the demographic breakdown of those participants, with a few clicks. Interconnected data makes it easy to find local institutions who are highly engaged with their programme and have become strong allies in making the sector more inclusive.
With the development of GoodSubmissions, commissioned by Unlimited and developed in collaboration with their team, they’ll also be bringing their application processes into the GoodTechnologies wheelhouse too. The highly integrated system will allow for a truly accessible application process for artists, and a streamlined method of handling, scoring and processing commissions for the internal team.
