Contacts FAQ’s

  • Within charities and non-profits, 'CRM' stands for Contact Relationship Management. In for-profit businesses, this acronym usually means Customer Relationship Management, however due to the nature of a charity or non-profit, the contacts which are stored in this system may have a variety of different relationships - so are referred to as 'contacts' instead. These contacts might include donors and supporters of the organisation's cause, but might also include participants in their events programme, professionals in the industry, and support or production staff who help with the day-to-day running of a charity's activity.

  • Most modern charities require a cloud-based, online contact databse system to manage their important lists of supporters, contacts and participants. Although these contacts can be stored in spreadsheets, this can lead to duplicative data, which is out of date and unconnected. Implementing a cloud-based system increases a charity's insight into their relationship with each contact, helping to improve stewardship and increase understanding of the organisation's impact.

  • A new CRM system can cost a non-profit organisation between a few hundred pounds, and several thousands of pounds, depending on the size of the team and the complexity of the data storage requirements. There are however many afforable options for small and medium sized charities, which are much easier to implement in a team with less techinical know-how. GoodCRM's afforable contact management allows small teams to manage all of their contacts, without placing artificial limits on the number of people, organisations or fields which can be stored. It's important to consider both the initial set up cost of your new CRM, as well as the long term subscription costs and any hidden fees. GoodCRM's set up is low cost, allowing you to get started straight away whatever your organisation's size and budget. Their pricing model is simple, based on the features you need and the number of seats you require for your team members.
