THE FULL PICTURE
You've outgrown the spreadsheet. Now what?
Most charities start looking for a CRM with one question: how much is it? The honest answer is that the monthly fee is only one part of the bill, and sometimes not the biggest part.
This guide is for small charities buying their first CRM. It compares four options that often come up at this stage: Beacon, Donorfy, GoodCRM and Salesforce (using its free nonprofit licences). We've used each supplier's published prices, shown where a price isn't published, and modelled what two typical charities might pay over one year and three years.
We publish GoodCRM, so we've tried hard to be fair. Every figure is sourced at the end of this guide. If you spot something out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
01 / UNDERSTAND THE COST
The five costs of a CRM
Whichever system you choose, your real cost is made up of five things. Ask every supplier about all five.
